Bodybuilder Nick Walker has died after being assaulted by two men at a Las Vegas strip club.
The former world bodybuilding champion was stabbed in the back at the Strip Club Paradise on Sunday night, according to police.
Walker, 43, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and died at a hospital on Monday, police said.
Walker, who had been fighting with the alleged assailants for hours before the attack, was arrested for second-degree murder.
He was booked into the Clark County Jail on Sunday afternoon and was being held in lieu of $2 million bail.
Bodybuilder Nick Walker is seen in this still from the 2013 film Bodybuilder.
Walker has been a member of the Bodybuilding World Championship since 2004, when he first made it to the top 10.
He also competed on the Bodybuilders Championship Tour in 2014, but was eliminated in the semifinals.
Walker and the other two competitors in the tournament were released from the hospital after undergoing surgery.
Walker’s former bodybuilding world champion, Dave “The Mauler” Smith, tweeted a video Sunday showing the pair attacking him in the parking lot of the Paradise.
“I hope my death is not in vain.
I will always have a place in my heart,” Walker wrote in the video.
“I have a huge heart, and I have a lot of love for my wife and my kids.
I am so proud of them.
I don’t want anyone to ever have to go through what I went through.”
The incident occurred after the men started harassing the other competitor, who was also stabbed.
One of the men reportedly threw a beer can at the bodybuilder and another person who was helping him.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family pay for funeral expenses.
Walker was a two-time World Champion, competing in the Bodybuilder World Championship and the Body Builders Championship Tour.
He has competed on both the Body Building World Championship Tour and the World Championships in Las Vegas.
Walker is survived by his wife, JoAnn, and their three children, a son, Ethan, 10, and a daughter, Lila, 4.
